Journey after life

Psychiatrists say that two things terrify us: insanity and death. In these cases we are losing the control of our minds, so the mind is the one who is sending us the message of fear. Have you ever thought what the death would be if there wasn’t the fear of losing control?

Our brain is created to wonder, to seek for discoveries but not to willingly accept its death. So death is end of the brain, end of our body. All our primary memories are written in our brains so they go away with death too. But is it all? I believe we are much more than the body. There must be higher level of our persistence that we are usually not aware of it, or not in “human state” or call it “brain state”.

Endless desire for immortality of Egyptians, another life beyond the grave for Christians, reincarnation for Hinduism…and many more, are they really just pathetic attempts of bagging for life that is over? Or is it a clear message from some “collective consciousness ” that after this life the journey continues, probably into another dimension?

I surely vote for the second.

  1. We can agree, our brain is limited, what is beyond the horizon we can only imagine.

  2. More often than not, the things that we fear are 'unknowns'. Unknowns terrify us because we don't really know the answer. It is a very natural and normal human response to be terrified of the things that we know nothing about. Even I am guilty of this. To face and conquer our fears is terrifying and most of us choose the easy way out. The easy way out is to jump to the conclusion of believing something that resonates with our existing belief systems or what those around us believe in. This is a natural human response and a means to fit in the group, as we like to survive in numbers and think and do what others think and do. The alternative is to face our fears and look at them with open-minded skepticism and attempt to validate the reality of them scientifically and objectively.

It is not up to me to say whether or not there is life after death. I would not want to re-create another belief system or make something up for you to believe in. Rather the only way you can find this out is to experiment with it yourself. I have been able to answer some of these questions with the practice of meditation. If you have a spare moment each evening or morning and your desire and intent is strong enough to have these questions answered, then the path will be given to you. You do not have to kill yourself to find out. You will get an answer soon enough if you deeply desire it.

There is no clear message from any of the religions. You can think and believe about anything that they might want you to believe in? But how do you know if it is true? By faith?
What good is faith if you have still never met God or had a profound spiritual experience?
Nothing is the same as having a personal experience and knowing your own truth. Nothing comes close to that.

  3. Humans have the "power" always to blame someone else when things get out of control. We always have some excuse and for the things that we can’t explain we have invented two words: destiny and faith. We always hide in our comfort zone thinking that there is some master plan for everyone of us, that we are not just some extras in this world, thinking that we are in control of our life and our destiny. On the other hand the church thought us that we are not in a control of our destiny, that everything happens for a reason whether it’s a good or bad thing we just need to have faith. It doesn’t matter if you are atheist or firm believer, when you analyze your life and wander what else is there for me and what is the purpose of my life, you go to that comfort zone and hope. We don’t know what will happen to us after our body and mind shut down in this life. This uncertainty motivates us to live ”harder” and leave something behind, something to be remembered by. At the end of the day we can only hope, pray or wander what if…
As for the other thing, whether we continue to exist in other form or in other dimension or not, we will find out some day, till then… Carpe diem

  4. I especially like this in your comment Petar "This uncertainty motivates us to live ”harder” and leave something behind, something to be remembered by. At the end of the day we can only hope, pray or wander what if…"

  5. "All our primary memories are written in our brains so they go away with death too."
since knowladge is not material after death of the body, memories will be still alive.
there may exist many dimensions, however the most important is this: am I such a kind person to myself and to people around me. if yes, that means i do respect to created and so creator ( the great one :) ) and have a chance to learn more knowladge. if no, that means i have no respect and i will waste my time with nonvaluable things instead to be aware of knowladge.

  6. The fact of the matter is, well there are many facts, but one is for sure, we all gonna die. So to be afraid of what is to be said "part of life" is useless and may hold you back in life. Memories are are what makes us who who are, so i think when we are gone the memories are gone too. But as I have been imagining, there will be feeling of infinity in whatever dimension after death. Jet this is my assumption, and with our limited brains you will never know whether I'm wright or wrong, then you may call to your feelings and feel that it is the truth or jet false, but anyhow we continue our lives.

  7. The journey after life, takes a biological nature... towards a "dead end". Once we are dead, biological decomposition of our cells start... and within no time not much is left. With the disappearance of the physical biological foundation that supports life mentally, spiritually....etc. There is nothing left... No life after death, no hell or heaven, and certainly no re-incarnation bla bla bla... when we are gone, we are gone. So let us make the best of the "short" time left for us to be alive.
